At the end of 2023, a Polish company Motiv Home presented their new development strategy and a series of projects created in collaboration with well-known Polish designers: Mode:lina, Nikodem Szpunar, Izabela Brola-Cieśluk, Pawlak & Stawarski studio and Witamina D. The new, innovative furniture collections premiered at the 2023 Warsaw Home fair were captured in a special album titled “Alchemy of Collaboration”. Many of them featured our fabrics: Aosta, Granola and Mura.
The album “Alchemy of Collaboration” documents the 2-year process of creating new Motiv Home collections. It has been visually captured in a photo shoot by the PION photographic studio, presenting interior designs by Anna Sanetra in Poznań’s Concordia and the Bałtyk office building.
The Mura fabric is perfectly compatible with the character of the Organic modular seat system designed by Izabela Brola-Cieśluk. The system composed of several irregular, asymmetric elements can be arranged as a single, coherent, monolithic piece of furniture or used as individual seats.
Our mélange Granola has been used in two furniture collections: M.O.D. designed by the Mode:lina studio and Dumbo designed by Izabela Brola-Cieśluk. Dumbo combines the features of a chair with armrests and a comfortable armchair. M.O.D. clearly shows the Poznanian architects’ fascination with accomplishments of postmodernist designers. It combines not only 4 elements completely differing in form, but also 4 colour variants of Granola. The modular seat system offers a surprising number of configurations.
The distinct structure of Aosta goes well with the rounded shapes of the Bold sofa designed by the Pawlak & Stawarski studio. These experienced furniture designers came up with a timeless, yet bold form. The Chat collection, designed by the same studio, comprises sofas and armchairs with two backrest types: standard and high-back. The former will be a great choice for residential interiors, whereas the latter is a perfect solution for offices, hotels or other interiors that require space for private phone calls or silent work. Chat’s function is well amplified by thick, sound absorbing Aosta. Armchairs and sofas designed by Nikodem Szpunar are neat and light pieces of furniture suspended on a metal frame. The form of Seg’s seats, somewhat organic, based on plywood segments, resembles furniture from the 1960s. Aosta perfectly aligns with this style.

Fabrics featured in the session:
Aosta is an upholstery fabric with a distinctive structure created by the use of a bouclé thread. The dimensional effect is additionally enhanced by two colours of the yarn, which are contrasting in some colour variants. Aosta’s weave forms a fine, 3-D checkerboard pattern. The fabric is thick and pleasant to the touch. Its colour palette includes greys, beiges and browns as well as trendy shades of broken white, écru, mustard yellow and russet. The fabric is made of 47% polypropylene obtained in the process of recycling textile waste.
A multi-coloured, mélange upholstery fabric inspired by Ireland's signature Donegal tweed style. Colourful accents on a uniform background are very fine – from a distance the fabric gives the impression of uniform, from close up you can see small weaves of silk. Granola visually resembles the Prato collection, but is more subtle and has a greater variety of colour. Its mélange weave makes it a perfect match for interiors inspired by the 1960s style. It can be used to renovate vintage furniture and produce contemporary models of chairs, armchairs and sofas. It comes in 16 colour variants: from more subdued earth colours to pastels.
Upholstery fabric from the Garda collection, made in Italy using cotton from recycled T-shirts. The production process is eco-friendly: the fabric is not dyed and the recycled fibres are first sorted by colour. Mura comes in 7 subdued, nature-inspired colours: black and white, beige, brown and three shades of grey. The colours emphasise the 3-D, bold weave of the fabric, which makes Mura a perfect choice for upholstering simple furniture forms. Its raw design is consistent with the other four fabrics from the Garda collection.
