Metal mirrors and seats from the Heat, Gradient and Transitions collections designed by Oskar Zięta have inspired Weronika Trojanowska and Ula Kaczmarek from Studio Mleko to create fantastic, cosmos-inspired worlds in a series of photographs based on the idea of construction and deconstruction.
In his design work, Oskar Zięta boldly experiments with metals and examines the limits of their strength, physical and chemical properties, and shaping and colouring potential. The objects he creates sometimes seem almost unreal. They surprise the viewer, bringing to mind a surreal, fantastic reality, where the impossible suddenly becomes possible.
The unreal nature of Zieta Studio's projects has been a source of inspiration for stylist Ula Kaczmarek and photographer Weronika Trojanowska when preparing the photo shoot. Colourful versions of such well-known designs as Plopp stools and barstools, Tafla and Rondo mirrors as well as Ultraleggera and Chippensteel chairs have become part of intriguing scenery, sometimes reminiscent of Rene Magritte's paintings, sometimes science-fiction film sets, and sometimes visually compelling digital creations of contemporary Internet artists.
The Melba fabric from our collection was used for crafting the session scenography. When photographed, the fabric’s characteristic sheen makes it look like the black-coloured metal used by Oskar Zięta in his projects. The viewer cannot distinguish what is made of soft, draped fabric and what of hard steel, which adds to the unreal atmosphere of the session and intensifies its visual message.
As the authors of the photo shoot say: “Through the construction, and then the deconstruction and stratification of the initial composition, we were looking for an unlimited possibility of transforming the image and its individual elements. We focused on building tension by playing with light and shadow, forms and colours, enhancing mysterious reflections in mirrors or emphasising lightness through the levitation of Ultraleggera chairs. When creating this project for the Zieta Studio products, we could feel the mysterious atmosphere of the interweaving worlds and stop, at least for a brief moment, the process of change that affects everything in the universe”.
Fabrics used:
Melba is a decorative fabric available in a wide range of colours. Calendering gives it an interesting gloss. Perfect for arranging elegant, luxurious interiors in the glamour style. Dark colours in particular can help you create an aura of mystery and sophistication in the room, and the shimmering surface can add extra character to the interiors if combined with matte fabrics. Its economical size (295 cm) helps make the most of the fabric. Wash with water or dry-clean.
A plain decorative fabric with a sateen gloss. The extremely wide range of over 70 colours offers endless possibilities for interiors decorated in various styles, from modern to traditional. Perfect for window decorations – curtains and blinds, as well as cushions, rolls and throws. The width of the fabric (280 cm) is an additional bonus, as it guarantees economical application. This plain curtain fabric nicely complements all patterned net curtains from the Azura collection, and other fabrics from the Dekoma collections.
