This year, our Christmas card is again not only a medium for Season's Greetings, but also an incentive to surround yourself with more flowering plants, which are so important for the shrinking bee population.
It is the second time that we have wanted our Christmas card to be something more than a piece of paper that will end up in the bin after Christmas. We value tradition and think that Christmas greetings are a nice gesture, but we also believe that conscious changes can improve this tradition for the benefit of the environment, biodiversity, and all of us. Our card is made of handmade paper, which contains seeds of flowering plants: night-scented stock, chamomile and common daisy. We have chosen species which thrive in our climate, are easy to grow and appealing to bees.
We encourage you to keep our card and use it in spring to sow the seeds. It is very simple: just soak the paper in water for a few hours, and then bury it to a depth of 1 cm in a balcony planter box, garden or a green area in previously prepared, loosened soil. Water it for the first few weeks, and it will certainly reward you with beautiful flowers that will bring you joy and provide food for bees.
Merry Christmas and a blossoming New Year!
