Alcantara’s new TARA collection had its world première at Paris Deco Off 2018.
Created by a French designer, Inga Sempé, TARA is Alcantara’s latest collection. The material’s digitally printed pattern consists of small lines creating geometrical, yet irregular structures.
The collection comprises 2 groups of 11 different colour combinations: a palette of shades of blue and grey, and one of beiges and greens.
Sempé has worked with the most renowned brands in the world of design for years. Her numerous clients include HAY, Ligne Roset, Alessi and Samsung. She lives and works in Paris, and is married to Ronan Bouroullec, one of the Bouroullec brothers who form a renowned design duo.
Rented specially for the event, the interior of the Art Cube gallery in Paris was decorated with TARA. Walls have been upholstered in Alcantara and the pattern covered the floor and ceiling, what contributed to the mesmerizing effect immortalized in the pictures.
The installation was created in cooperation with companies from the furniture, consumer electronics and automotive industries:
- Ligne Roset provided a sofa designed by Sempé. The piece of furniture was upholstered with a material from the TARA collection.
- Samsung framed one of their new TV sets in TARA.
- The three-wheeled Ape Calessino Piaggio city vehicle was dressed in TARA. The vehicle's seat, soft top and doors were lined with the material.
