History

Dekoma’s transformation from a small family business into one of the international industry leaders has been determined by the place we come from. The areas near Swarzędz form one of the key furniture manufacturing hubs in Poland. Many of our customers are our neighbours. In turn, the nearby Poznań is Poland’s largest trade fair centre. Contacts established during industry trade fairs helped us achieve dynamic growth and enter international markets.

Today, we deliver fabrics to customers in 60 countries, create curated collections and exhibit at world-class trade shows, such as Heimtextil or Stockholm Furniture Fair. Below, you will find the major milestones in our growth.

Experience is our key to success

Our story begins in 1993, when Maciej Kuchareczko opened a small fabric wholesale business in his home garage. Situated in the then-capital of Polish furniture production, Swarzędz, the company was named Inter-Tech.

We create Grid – the first fabric pattern developed in collaboration with a Polish design studio – BEZA. The pattern is designed by Anna Łoskiewicz-Zakrzewska and Zofia Strumiłło-Sukiennik. The entire project culminates in a photo shoot in New York’s Manhattan.
