Chenille

There is a good reason why this type of fabric derives its name from a hairy caterpillar (in French, chenille - caterpillar). The yarn used to produce chenille fabrics is very distinctive: short fibres are attached to the main thread. As a result, chenille fabrics are covered with a short, even pile, which gives them softness and pleasant tactility. All this, combined with durability and numerous functional advantages, makes chenille one of the most popular types of upholstery and decorative fabrics.
