CHARLES
An Art Deco-style confectionery designed by Hugon Kowalski from the UGO Architecture studio has been opened in the Old Market Square in Opole. Thick velour curtains play an important role in its interior inspired by cafés from the early 20th century and the theatre.
The interior is dominated by three colours: gold (brass counter, lamps and details), pink (the colour of the floor and terrazzo panels on the counter front) and emerald green on numerous opulently draped curtains. The impressive burl wood chest of drawers is a clear reference to Art Deco.
The curtain is a prevalent motif in the café: it is present in its visual identity, decorates the counter, and reveals the mastery of confectioners working behind the glass wall to the lovers of sweets. The latter element of the interior as well as all other curtains in the café are made from the Charles fabric, colour Garden 45, which warms the interior and muffles the sounds coming from the confectionery workshop. It also adds mystery to the interior and regulates the amount of daylight entering through the windows
Charles is a part of the Charleston collection. It comes in 85 colours and is suitable for both decorative and upholstery applications, which makes it a popular choice in all kinds of public and private interiors.
