Playrooms are areas or interiors created especially for children’s recreation. They may vary greatly – from play areas in stores, cafés or museums to enormous halls featuring obstacle courses, climbing walls, trampolines, slides and other attractions. The crucial aspects to playrooms are child safety, the comfort and attractiveness of play and the promotion of children’s development. Playrooms enable parents to plan attractive activities for their children, join them at play and meet other adults while their children are having fun time.
The “Bawimy – Family Concept” playroom in Poznań boasts a simple, user-friendly design, a functional layout and natural materials. Its interior design project refers to the principles of the Montessori method of education, which focuses on the natural, versatile development of children: formation of social and cognitive skills, development and coordination of motor skills as well as emotional growth. Numerous fittings in the playroom are original designs by Agnieszka Szalbierz.
The lofty, bright interior with raw concrete walls is mellowed by light-coloured plywood. The neutral backdrop of the walls and floor is enriched with vibrant colour accents: multicolour ornaments hanging over the play area, checked curtain made from the Grid Miami 04 fabric, mint chairs and bar counter and the intensely orange back bar rack and sofa. The latter furniture piece has an original backrest shape, upholstered with our Velutto Brick 25 corduroy – a tactile fabric with thick, clearly tactile ribs. This fabric has been selected due to its haptic qualities and energetic, distinct colour, as well as the ease of maintenance, as it is covered with a protective finish.
