Dekoma supports Zamek Cultural Centre during the "Antonio Gaudí" exhibition

This is yet another time that Dekoma has been engaged in cultural activities. This time, one of our fabrics – Tivoli – has been featured in the setting for an exhibition devoted to the works of an outstanding Catalonian architect, Antoni Gaudí. The exhibition is open for visitors until 3 July, 2022 at ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznań.

Antoni Gaudí is one of the most outstanding and acclaimed figures in the history of art. His revolutionary architectural concepts and exceptional talent have long stirred powerful emotions, not only in the visitors to sunny Barcelona. The exhibition at ZAMEK will guide you through the greatest and most prominent works by Gaudí: from the La Obrera Mataronense cooperative project, through the Güell Palace and the Calvet, Batlló and Milà houses, to the Sagrada Família. Overall, you will have an opportunity to see nearly 150 pieces, including plans, models, drawings, sculptures, furniture, and photographs. This is the first exhibition of Gaudí’s legacy in Poland and most comprehensive one in Europe.

The setting for the exhibition at ZAMEK features our decorative fabric Tivoli with a characteristic suede texture. We have donated 70 running metres of Tivoli Apricot 23 to the organisers. According to the designers of the exhibition setting, the UGO architecture studio, the hue of a ripe apricot reflects not only the climate of Catalonia, where Gaudí created his works, but also the character of his projects, full of sculpted shapes and intricate forms and patterns.

The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive educational programme. The numerous lectures, workshops and lessons for schools will allow for exploring the phenomenon of Barcelona – the city where Gaudí created his art – and historical sources of his inspiration. You will also have an opportunity to look at Gaudí’s contemporary legacy and consider what we can learn from him today.
