GOYA
For over 20 years, Ptasie Radio (en Bird Radio) – a charming restaurant and café nestled in the heart of Poznań – has defied fleeting interior trends, instead embracing a one-of-a-kind, whimsical ambiance filled with poetry. The unique character of this place is complemented by our fabrics from the Goya collection: Goya and Paradisso.
Set within a historic townhouse on 74 Kościuszki Street, the lofty interiors of Ptasie Radio have long been Poznanians’ beloved spot for a coffee or a shared meal. A visit to Ptasie Radio might surprise you with an exhibition by a local artist, a live concert, or a creative workshop. Over the years, this place has become deeply rooted in the local community, where regular customers return again and again.
The interior style of Ptasie Radio would most likely fall under shabby chic. Weathered by time, the townhouse rooms, adorned with a majestic tiled stove and striking stucco details, are furnished with an eclectic mix of vintage pieces. Tables, armchairs, chairs, and sofas come together in ensembles sharing a common thread: a pronounced dragged white paint finish. Certain elements take on new life: an elegant metal bed frame serves as a sofa base, while old doors become wall panelling or room dividers. One of the rooms features a grand ceiling-hung installation resembling an old-fashioned birdcage, where guests can settle in like canaries. Branches and blossoms gently peek inside through the windows and, true to the venue’s name, bird-themed accents are scattered throughout the interiors.
Feathered songbirds in the form of figurines and other decorative elements grace wall frescoes, paintings, and prints. This vibrant flock stays in harmony with birds adorning the Goya fabric – used interchangeably with Paradisso – to upholster the chairs, armchairs, and sofas throughout the space. The pastel colours of both fabrics beautifully complement the bright interior and whitewashed furniture, enhancing Ptasie Radio’s signature rustic-romantic ambiance.
