Mine Eyes Bees Deceive

“My Eyes Deceive the Bees” is the title of a comprehensive exhibition of Polish photography that opened on March 21, 2025, at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. The curators, Kamila Bondar and Łukasz Rusznica, invited 46 artists to participate: both well-known and respected in the Polish and international art scene, as well as those just starting their careers. The exhibition of works in the halls of Ujazdowski Castle is complemented by a reading room dedicated to photography books – we provided Foga Gray Lilac 01 fabric to furnish this space.

The exhibition “My Eyes Deceive Bees” is an attempt to indicate the most interesting paths of imagery in contemporary photography – the first extensive one in Poland for years. Works by recognized creators, such as Nicolas Grospierre, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Rafał Milach, Joanna Piotrowska, or Karol Radziszewski, as well as those who have recently embarked on their artistic journey, like Antonina Gugała or Joanna Szpak-Ostachowska, tell a multithreaded story about man, human fates, emotions, and relationships. The photographic images, in line with the title of the exhibition, often reveal their fantastic dimension and diverse, deeply individual interpretations of reality. They encourage the search for one’s own interpretations or simply to indulge in the joy of looking. The exhibition also proves that photography willingly breaks free from the constraints of two-dimensionality, takes on unconventional material and spatial forms, enters into a relationship with sculpture and painting, and becomes a grateful medium for artistic experiments.

An exhibition is accompanied by a separate space arranged in the form of a reading room for photographic books, of which a wide selection is available for free viewing. Visitors can sit on the seats in the circular interior, enclosed by a curtain made of Foga Gray Lilac 01 fabric, to thoughtfully browse through photographic books that expand the scope of the exhibition. The space designed by Tomasz Chmielewski and Magdalena Romanowska also includes furniture and lamps from the Polish brand Dèrive. The designers appreciated our fabric for its warm, friendly shade and semi-transparency, which provides a beautiful diffusion of light. An important factor in the choice was also fire resistance, which is required in cultural institutions for the safety of visitors.

We passed the fabric to the Centre for Contemporary Art as part of our cultural support program. We are pleased that the fabric is increasingly appearing as an important part of public space projects. More information about our activities in this area can be found. tutaj.

The exhibition can be viewed until August 31, 2025. More information about the event:
