Taffeta - new, pastel taffeta

This strikingly elegant taffeta can be used to sew window treatments and textile accessories for interiors, such as cushions or curtains. What sets it apart from similar fabrics available in the market is its extensive palette of 50 colours. Unlike the majority of taffetas, typically associated with intense, saturated colours (e.g. navy blue, violet or claret), our product comes in a range of soft, light, predominantly pastel shades.

When touched, Taffeta produces a characteristic rustle, resulting from its weave and delicately ribbed surface. The fabric’s dense weave ensures excellent shape retention – Taffeta will work particularly well with draperies, gathers, and decorative knots. The fabric’s glossy surface beautifully reflects light in its folds.

With a width of 304 cm, it will be a perfect choice for complex, multi-element, and richly detailed window decorations – even in spacious, high-ceiling interiors. Taffeta will look splendid when adorned with trimmings: fringes, gimps, cords, and tassels. The glossy and drapable Taffeta is also a great solution for crafting event decorations, such as drapes, pinched arrangements, and ornamental bows in banquet halls, hotel lobbies, or restaurants.

The name Taffeta refers to the Persian word “taffeta”, which means “twisted fabric” – this term also became the name of the entire product category. Interestingly, taffeta cloth was used by the Montgolfier brothers to create the envelopes of the first hot air balloons—its dense weave ensured the layers were airtight.
