Trends in fabric design do not change as quickly as they used to. The real excitement is hidden beneath the level of patterns and colours.

Dekoma for Impact'23

Impact is the most prestigious economic and technological event in Central and Eastern Europe. It brings together managers from the largest global companies, policymakers, legislators, scientists and experts in different fields. It offers an opportunity to discuss the most important economic and social developments, make new business contacts and exchange views.

This year’s edition of the Impact conference took place in Poznań on 10-11 May. It had 23 thematic tracks and hosted nearly 600 speakers, including Natalie Portman, Adam Tooze, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Anda Rottenberg and Tomasz Stawiszyński. It featured workshops, meetings with artists and live performances. At the venue, you could also find exhibitions, partner and sponsor stands as well as relaxation and networking areas.

In cooperation with its organisers, we supported the event by providing 300 metres of decorative fabrics for the arts and relaxation areas. The latter included a stand of Vogue Polska - one of the media partners of Impact’23.

The relaxation area was designed with our digitally printed Hoshi Snow fabric, which was used to separate the networking zone. Some of the area was taken up by the “Vogue Temple”, a pop-up installation designed by Anna Witko. The pavilion, whose shape resembled classic architectural forms such as arcades or cornices, was Viva Magenta in colour. Viva Magenta is Pantone's colour of the year for 2023. A gradient, digitally printed, ombré, viva magenta-coloured curtain made of our Hoshi fabric was hung above the structure. Participants’ experience of the “Vogue Temple” was aided by the scent of pink pepper lingering in the air, which highlighted the colour’s depth and balanced its sweetness.

Inside the pavilion, conference participants could buy issues of Vogue and Vogue Living magazines with unique magenta covers and admire abstract floral arrangements by the Kwietny Wóz (Eng. Floral Cart) floral studio as well as vases by Vesta Warsaw. The external relaxation area featured upholstered furniture by a young Polish brand - Goodliving & Co. The visitors could get comfortable and enjoy coffee and original doughnuts from the “Pączuś i Kawusia” café in Poznań.

Another fabric offered by Dekoma, Puro White, was used to design the Arts Area – a space that hosted concerts, performances, exhibitions and meetings with artists. The fabric panels used there served as a background for monumental metal sculptures from the Acid Sculpture series by Alicja Biała and the painting titled “My Anger” by Monika Falkus, a young painter who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice.

The networking area was designed based on the key visual of Impact’23, i.e. a colourful gradient, in such a way as to allow conference participants to meet at a shared gradient table. The latter had an organic form and was decorated with vibrant fresh flowers.

Soft, transparent, gradient-printed fabrics suspended from the hall’s ceiling marked the boundaries of the area, creating intimate corners for conversations. The relaxation and networking areas in the exhibition hall at the Poznań International Fair were designed by Supergirls Do Design, a Poznań design studio.
