From 18 to 22 October, 2023 the HOP building at Chmielna 132, Warsaw hosted a design & engineering exhibition titled “Space is a place” organised by Comune – Objects in motion. Dekoma’s fabrics Hoshi and Foga provided a backdrop for furniture, lighting and functional and decorative items which, as the organisers believe, have the potential to conquer the world of design.

Comune – Objects in motion is an initiative curated by Monika Szyca-Thomas of The Good Living & Co. and Monika Kolasa and Jakub Szkaradek of Lexavala. Its aim is to promote Polish design among architects and the general public. In effect, during the weekend of October18-22, visitors could take a look at projects created by 20 brands: the well-established ones and those only starting their journey in the world of design. The pop-up exhibition featured lamps, furniture and items by e.g. Pani Jurek, Noom Home, UAU Project, Gropk, Totem Studio, Bimer Light, Branik, Hasik Design, Szymon Keller, Adam Skotarczak or Mati Sipiora.
The exhibition was accompanied by live music and discussion panels devoted to design and applied arts, organised by the Vogue Living Polska magazine which, together with the Lupo Pasta Fresca restaurant, was a partner of the event.
Dekoma donated 73m of the decorative fabric Hoshi, which was used to arrange the exhibition area on one of the HOP building’s floors. Visitors could also see the textile vermilion banner, previously used during the celebration of the 5th anniversary of Vogue Polska. Made from the digitally printed, transparent Foga fabric, the banner provided a backdrop for the discussion panel zone.
